66 Year Old Female Reverses Diabetes and Normalizes Cholesterol Naturally

A 66 year old female asks for the help of Dr. John Phelts DC in New York, NY, in order to manages her diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol.  She previously saw her primary care physician a year prior, who told her that she has diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension (high blood pressure).  He put her on blood pressure medication.. He told her that she needed to eat healthier.or else he would need to put her several other medications.  She didn't want to take medication, so she began eating healthier (so she thought) and after her one year follow-up her glucose (sugar) levels were higher than before.  He prescribed another blood pressure medication and insulin.

She was distressed, because she thought she made the changes necessary to make a difference in her health and didn't understand why she didn't improve.  A close friend of hers, recommended that she see Dr. John Phelts.

During her first appointment with Dr. John Phelts, he analyzed her blood work and performed an Applied Kinesiology examination.

Laboratory Blood Analysis Findings:

  • High Glucose- a measure of diabetes risk
  • High Ha1C- a measure of diabetes risk
  • Suboptimal creatinine- most likely due to muscle loss.  Muscle loss can be caused by aging,  sedentary lifestyle, reduced ability to digest protein, and low protein intake.
  • Low Potassium- due to blood pressure medication, which depletes potassium.  Her primary failed to mention this.
  • High Total Cholesterol
  • High LDL Cholesterol
  • Low Hemoglobin- Her primary physician did not mention this to her.  Hemoglobin carries the oxygen in your blood to your cells.  The lower the hemoglobin the harder your heart has to work to get oxygen to your cells.  The harder your heart has to work, the shorter its lifespan.
  • Low MCHC- the concentration of hemoglobin in red blood cells.  This is a measure of anemia.  She was never informed of this by her primary physician
  • Low MCH- the weight of hemoglobin in red blood cells.  This is a measure of anemia.  She was never informed of this by her primary physician

Applied Kinesiology Findings:

  • Immune challenges with fungus, candida, bacteria, viruses, and biofilms.
  • Heavy Metals- including gold and thallium
  • Blood clotting challenges with thrombin, prothrombin, and fibrin.  suggesting a increased risk of forming blood clots and stroke
  • Hormonal Challenge with estrogen- in particular estrone
  • Glyphosate Challenge- indicating eating to many foods treated with pesticides.
  • Methylxanthine challenges- including caffeine and theophylline

After analyzing all the testing results she put on a low glycemic diet, with emphasis on eating specific foods to address the anemia and low hemoglobin.  She was instructed to eat mostly organic foods.. Exercise recommendations were also made. She was also put on natural supplements to address her immune challenges, hormonal challenges, stroke risk, and improve protein digestion.

Follow-up blood work was ordered two months and eight months after she began her treatment program to make sure she was on the correct path to health.  Some changes were made to her regimen according to the blood work and applied kinesiology testing.  Her test results were gradually improving.

At the 11 month mark another blood-work was ordered.  The results for her glucose and cholesterol were amazing...Check them out below.  The most current results are on the left.  Yellow indicates within normal parameter, but can be improved.  Red indicates outside of normal parameters.  White indicates optimal parameters


As you can see, her Glucose level was almost cut in half and lowered by  88 units into normal range..  Her Hemoglobin A1C is now in normal range. These numbers can still improve a little, but the important thing is that her body is now able to manage her glucose levels.

The sodium is high and potassium is critically low.  This is not due to her diet, but the blood pressure medication that she is taking.

Her Cholesterol which was high is now well within the optimal range.  ir dropped by a whopping  59 points.  Her LDL cholesterol aka the "bad cholesterol is also in optimal range and dropped by 39 points.

Her hemoglobin greatly improved from having clinically low hemoglobin to optimal.  Here MCHC also improved significantly.  Her MCH did not improve or significantly change.  All in all this is a net improvement, which means her heart doesn't have to work as hard to distribute oxygen throughout the body.. Her next blood analysis will include iron and ferritin to see how we can further reduce anemia.

Her blood pressure is still high.  If she skips a day of taking the medication, it goes up.  It especially goes up when she is nervous or under stress.  Dr. Phelts reminded her that unnecessary or excessive worrying can't add an inch to her height or an hour to her life.  It won't solve anything, so what's the point?  Let someone else worry for her.  He will introduce her to applied kinesiology stress management techniques.
