D-Mannose is a naturally occuring sugar that can be found in blueberries and cranberries. It is kmostly known for its ability to cleanse the urinary tract. It works by binding to E. Coli, the most common cause of Urinary tract infection, so that it can be flushed out of the urinary tract.
Cranberry juice is the most common natural remedy for UTI. Taking a D-Monnose supplement with it can make it more effective. Recent studies comparing D-Mannose to both antibiotic and placebo have shown women taking D-Mannose had a significantly lower frequency of UTI and a lower incidence of side effects compared to those taking the antibiotic.
